Crumbs

I have asked this question before, but I can't remember the answer (getting old is tough....) :)

How large (or small) is a crumb?

TIA

you got me...

I've used up to 1/2" in my crumb quilt. I did 4" squares, and some had tiny pieces 1/2" x 1/2".
please show us what you do. it was fun, but I don't know if i'd do it again.

I consider a "crumb" to be a piece that is big enough to sew into a patch, but too small or irregularly shaped to cut into a "regular" piece.

Seems like people that made/make them say they are 1" finished squares, would finish at 1/2" square. 2" is small enough for me.

Thanks! Basically a crumb is what I've been tossing as "too small" to work with! Go know.

Have to agree with you, Lynnie ... have done it, but not sure if I'd do it again LOL ...

Anything less than 1 1/2” square is a crumb to me.

Curious about your seam allowance. If it’s 1/4 inch the 1/2 inch patch would disappear unless that’s the finished size.

Anything smaller than a 2 1/2” square goes into my crumb bin...
