I took tailoring classes with Patti Palmer of Palmer and Pletsch patterns in McCalls back in the late 70's. She used this blouses and Armo Flex for skirt waistbands and Blazers. It is great stuff. i use it on everything that doesn't need a stiffer interfacing. The other option for your Velvet is what is known as underling in tailoring: use a light weight fabric under your designer fabric, cut them out together and sew as one unit.
