Cuddle advice
 

I just ordered two yards of Cuddle fabric to use for a backing to my grandson’s quilt. Having no experience working with Cuddle, do I use a light batting too or will that make the quilt too stiff?

When I use the minky cuddle I have used batting and that made for a very snuggly quilt. I have used both Hobbs 80/20 and the Warm and Plush.

I have never skipped the batting, but I would imagine that would be fine as well

If you cut it put the pieces in the dryer for a few minutes to remove all the 'dust'.

I always put a lightweight polyester batting in mine, I think it looks better.

I too always use batting. I like cozy, cushy quilts.

I've done both. I prefer no batting. Just personal preference.

I'd say it depends where this quilt will be used. How snuggly do you want it? I recently recycled corduroy slacks into a quilt with light-weight batting and flannel backing. Tied it. Wow--heavy!! But it feels awfully good with our temp at nearly -20 this morning!!

Since we live in a warm climate I do not add batting when using Cuddle for backing. Just use spray basting to keep top and backing together and it quilts very easily without puckers.

I only used minky as a backing one time. I did use warm and natural for the batting. The quilt was way too heavy! I personally would not do it again.
