I find if I just take a break from quilting and read a good book it revs up my creativity again. Whenever I try to force myself to continue sewing I end up having to just rip it out later. I find this slump happens the most often when I have locked myself in to too many deadlines so I'm trying not to do that.

I straighten my stash. "Fondling" my fabric always inspires me!

I step away and do something else for a while until the mood strikes again and it always does.

Went to a quilt show yesterday and now have a list a mile long!

I find inspirtion from all the amazing talent here and friends on Facebook.
My time right now is watching my new grandson for 11 hours a day while my kids are at work. For me, it's a matter of not having the time (or energy). Another thing that inspires me is to pull out all my fabrics and ponder the possibilities! Hugs |
When I feel like this I usually will get out some of my squares I have cut and start making 4 patches or 9 patches, or just sew strips together...some wonderful quilts have come out of these "humble beginnings."

I do something really quick! An e-reader case, mug rugs, coffee cozies, just little things that I can do in one sitting and get a quick (and cute!) finished product! Something about the instant gratification gives me to kick to start a bigger project.

I go through my stash and find a fabric that I just have to sew with. It always works for me.

As for getting inspiration, I do a lot of web searching. Everyone hits a low time though, so don't fret. Melinda, I love the little cow! |
