So...after you sew the geese...do you applique the strip of them down or what?

Hi Joy,
The pattern I have is for 17" blocks with a star in the center of the circle. The book is Big Book of Scrap Quilts, the pattern is called Dizzy Geese. I haven't made it but it's inching up on my project list.

cwessel47.... who is the author of the big book of scrap quilts please? Is it a new release?

No I piece them into the project. That is why you see the chalk marks on my jacket. When you draw the original curve you have a template for how to join, just add your seam allowance. I mark the seam line of the curve I want to attach on the wrong side of the fabric with chalk or very light weight fusible interfacing,

The book is published by Oxmoor House 2005. Compiled and edited by L. Amanda Owens and Patricia Wilens. Good Luck!
