Cute Pumpkin Table Runner, but how do I bind it?
I have pieced two of this pumpkin pattern in the last couple of weeks. I like it because it can be used throughout the fall season.

you always line up the binding straight back from what ever line you are working on. The angle really doesn't matter. At least that has been my experience. That is a cute pattern!

Thanks, Debra. I plan on quilting them this weekend, but just can't visualize the binding thing yet. Good to hear that it's probably no big deal. :-)

I would cut the binding on the bias. It will give more on those angles! Luann in CT

I do as DebraK said. Stitch binding until 1/4" from edge, then fold binding back to the new angle (instead of the 90 degree angle) and stitch starting at the edge. I have done with straight grain and bias and both work well.
Cute runner pattern! |
My favourite odd angle tutorial is on www.ankastreasures.

I made this pattern several years ago. It's on my antique Hoosier cabinet right now. I made just a regular binding. No difference in it whatsoever, just a couple more corners and folds.
