I clear my table and open the fabric all the way. Then, I use my long 24" ruler and align it with the fabric edge. Generally, I slice about 20" at a time or until I reach the end of my cutting board. Reposition fabric and repeat.
Key is not to have any drag on the fabric. |

I fold the fabric to a managable "length" making sure it's on the grain then use my rotary ruler.. I haven't had any problems so far.
