The Cutting EDGE Frosted Ruler

Has anyone used The Cutting EDGE Frosted Ruler? It claims to sharpen your rotary cutter each time you cut. Does it work? Is it worth the money?

I wasn't impressed! Now in the pile with all the other things I don't use.

I hate it. First of all you have to have the matching rotary cutter. It doesn't work with any other kind of cutter. Second, the matching rotary cutter is the WORST!!! I thought maybe the blade that was in it was bad. It was. Not only was it dull, it had huge nicks in it. So I bought new blades. Same thing with the new ones. Thought I'd try it with the matching ruler, IMPOSSIBLE to cut with. I took the ruler, the cutter, and all the blades back. Pure junk.

Bought it, used it once, didn't like it at all. A waste of money. Good idea but...........

Don't think I will buy one!

I have the ruler but don't use the sharpening edge. I like it because it is longer than other rulers and good for triming edges of my crib quilts. I always turn it to the smooth side. It may be too expensive for this kind of use but I find it useful. Definitely not for shaprning the blade.

I bought one on ebay and I really don't like it. Maybe it takes practice but I don't know. I thought you could use any cutter.

When these first came out one shop on our shop hop was demoing it. They just used an Olfa cutter. I do know it takes practice to get use to it. I did not bite on that 'sale' and then I started using Harbor Freight carpet blades and that cut way down on cost of blades...
