beautiful quilts Roben-- hoping to make mine 1 little bit as nice. I did (finally) get my fabric cut. I am not brave enough to try tearing, so I did use my big mat and rotary cutter to cut the lengths for my border. I took my time, and they look straight! Yey for me! Now we'll see how well I cut the fabric for my blocks...

You go girl!!! Remember, there are always many ways to accomplish something - just try them until you find what works for you :D

so it's ok to move the fabric? I thought I would make a mess of it and it wouldn't be straight. As for folding it again, I have a pretty tough time with four, let alone 8!

DON'T FOLD. Cut one layer only. This is the way I cut borders or anything that needs to be cut on the length of the fabric - they're ALWAYS going to be the same width - so I'm cutting an exact distance away from the edge. That's the easiest kind of cutting. First, I use a tape measure to figure out how LONG the cut is going to be and mark the end of the cut with a safety pin. Cut ONE AT A TIME. Why do I say this? GUESS!!!
