I have one that you can iron on one side, turn it over and it is a cutting mat.

the one i saw was not padded on the other side. you could cut on both side and it was self-healing as well. but it also resisted the heat of an iron and you could iron right on the mat itself. also, you could keep it rolled up for a long time and when you laid it down, it immediately laid flat.
it was pricey, but because you could iron on it, i thought it might be worth it. i could get rid of the ironing pad i keep near the machine and have a little less clutter. |
I think Martelli's markets a mat they say you can iron on...

I have a June Tailor one. It's just the right size for cutting small pieces of fabric and ironing a block. And it's great to take to workshops, etc..

I've only seen the 2 sided one.

I have the June Tailor for I use mainly for classes but have found am using it more at home. It's light weight and so easy to use. I use the padded side to iron and secure appliques with pins as I heat bond them to the block they will be on.

The martelli cutting mat can be ironed directly on. I don't iron often on mine but I have and you don't have to flip it over.
