cutting mats

Has anyone used Alvin cutting mats? I have always used Olfa or Fiskars, however I am designing a cutting table and would like one mat 36" x 48". While I was looking online I ran across the Alvin brand. Good quality? Smell?

I'll be watching this thread. I had seen the Alvin brand also but wasn't sure of them. I ended up getting an Olfa and am not quite satisfied with it. I got one that is supposed to be self-healing but am not too happy with it. It either isn't a "true" self-healing or I am really strong when I cut. LOL I now wish I had invested in the Alvin. So, alas, I will wait till this one is unusable and will get an Alvin. If you get one, let me know how you like it.

I have the Alvin cutting mat and love it. No problem at all.
