Cutting mats

What can I do with cutting mats from my GO after they cannot be used anymore?.. I know there is something, but right now at a loss, just don't want to throw them out.. all suggestions appreciated.

Try contacting recycling centers for advice. Or consider using the old mats as liners for drawers, especially in kitchen or bathroom drawers, etc.

I use old mats for when I pin baste so the pins won't go thru the quilt and scratch my table.....

Can't you also use them in the bottoms of fabric bags?

I agree with Sunnye, I use them for bags. I cover them with fabric but use velcro so the mat can be removed and the cover washed.

Thank you using them for bag bottoms is a great idea.

Yes, thank you, never thought of using them for the bottom of bags.. I like that idea.

ABout putting them into the bottom of bags or purses for extra support.

DH looked at one of the mats I tossed and said all this needs is resealing. I said great, reseal it. He took it with him to work. I guess he's trying different ways. LOL.

I have been using one from a girl friend at my sewing machine, laying in front of it on the table. It is nice to re-pin things, make small rotary cuts, etc. Instead of having to move to where the mat is, I can do it right there.
But the purse bottoms is a good idea too. Guess I will have to get another from her. Hmmmmm
