cutting an olfa mat

Hi Quilters
I need to cut a few inches off of my olfa cutting mat. Does anyone have any tips to share before I do this - what type of saw or blade did you use? were you able to get a clean cut? Any information is much appreciated. It seems like I have seen this discussed before - but the search terms I am using are not useful.

I use tin snips to cut my mats. Easy , and a clean cut .

hmmm, I'd take it to Home Depot or some such place and have them cut it for me.

I used a pair of metal Gingher scissors. Cut through easy and smooth.

I've used tin snips, DH uses heavy duty exacto/cardboard cutter. Makes a score, bends it, and completes cut from the other side.

Hi Folks
Thanks for the input. I used my metal snips this morning and it worked easily. I needed to cut it down because I recently purchased a small gateleg table which was just a bit too narrow for my mat.
