Can anyone give some suggestions for cutting out large pieces of fabric, such as for backing of a quilt?.

Thank you,
Sarah

I go and get my dad's metal t-square hehe

When I buy the fabric for my backing, I usually have the person cutting the fabric cut it, for example, in three yard increments. Depends on how much you need and how you will be sewing the backing together.

Hope this helps!

It sure is easier to buy the 108" wide material for a large quilt, instead of trying to sew pieces together.

I agree sewmuch! And they're finally coming out with a larger variety to choose from. I've used the 108s a few times now and love not having to make my backing. I still love making a pieced backing now and then though. :)
