In my dream world, my cutting table would not be super wide cause I can only reach across so far, but would like a longer table and maybe have some shelving underneath to keep a clearer top.

I went from a 3 x 4 to a 4 x 8 using the same bases underneath but used a larger table made from a 5/8" piece of plywood 4 x 8. Ordered my mat online...........self-healing, printed on both sides, one side is green and the other side is black. I added a strip of trim along the edge sticking up just enough to surround the mat itself not that it would move as it is heavy but I didn't know that beforehand. I'm very happy with mine.

Good to know...I missed their big sale last fall on table cutting system.

I am following this thread closely as I am planning a sewing room in a new home. I'm in search of the best cutting mat for a 40" x 60" cutting table.

If you're not in a hurry keep watching. They have at least one, and maybe two of those sales per year.
