Cuttings circles with Go Baby

I need some advice! I have a lot of snippets of wool from various applique projects and thought I'd cut out some "pennies" using my Go Baby! die. Some came out circular, but others ended up more oval than circular. Should I have attached some stabilizer or fusible web to them before cutting? I don't like to use fusible web as I plan to hand stitch the pennies to batiks.

You might reach out to Accuquilt with that one, I am not sure the dies were meant to cut wool, that might be the cause of your distortion.

It's the stretch in the fabric. Put a piece of paper on top of the fabric before the mat and try that. It works for fabric that is not on grain with the die blades.

maybe pressing freezer paper to the wool and cut paper side up. Good luck, I love doing wool projects.

Thanks, Jackie and Onebyone. I will give both of those ideas a try. I got the Go Baby circle dies to be able to cut perfect circles. They work great on cotton.

The circles do require a stabilizer for perfect cut. You want to keep the fabric from shifting while it goes through the cutter.

The dies can cut most anything that is cuttable. I have cut paper, cardstock, foam, felt, foil, cork, cardboard, vinyl, suede... I don't mind trying to see.
