D9P question
This may have already been asked but I didn't find what I was looking for. I bought a bunch (34) 9patches at a flea market, the 5/4 blocks are the same in each 9P but are different in each block. Can I make a D9P out of them or do they need to match? I hope you get what I'm trying to say, it's a little confusing even to me as I type this LOL. thanks.

Go ahead. It'll just be scrappy and there won't be a repeat the way you would get if the centers were all the same.

They don't have to match. Right now I'm making a D9P where the middle square is all the same but all the rest of them are different. The middle square gets cut into 4 smaller ones and they are scattered throughout. They could have easily been different and the effect of the quilt would have been the same. I'm using 3.5 squares (3"finished) which is what I already had some from other projects. If you use larger squares then the effect will be different too.
There are many layouts for a D9P and also different ways to cut the 9 patch which also results in different looks. Before you start cutting look at some of the different ways to cut them. |

Put them all in for a scrappy quilt! The D9P is so versatile you can do anything with it! No rules, just whatever YOU want to do.

Thanks everyone. PaperPrincess, I didn't know about the gallery, thanks so much. The quilts are gorgeous! I looked at some of the other gallerys. I don't know how everyone does it because they are all so inspiring.
