I have an idea for the backing.. Use all the receiving blankets whole...Don't cut up just leave whole and stitch them together.. as for piecing the front, sorry all I have is appliqueing the onsies or just cut out the cute sayings and make like a t-shirt quilt..

If the clothes are made of a stretchy fabric you need to stabilize the backs of the fabric first, it will help it not to stretch, ask me how I know!

If she just wants the memory of each outfit, etc. you might consider making big bears wearing pieces of the clothes. Cut out a simple bear outline in some varied shades of browns & overlay the little bits of clothing for the bears to wear. Each bear could be a big simple applique block with sashing around. Maybe a recieving blanket for a backing if it will be lap sized. Post what you do, we'd all like to see.

Wow, Pam, you gave me some many things to think about - my cap is on!! and you are right to sketch 1st and and make changes before cutting. Yes I do have a EM, just got it for Christmas, and learning as I go. Thank you so much for all your ideas. I will definitely send a picture once I finish.
