There are many wonderful quilters and designers out there, if you could have a private "lesson" for a day, who would be your choice?
Me- Kathy McNeil (I already did once and would love to do it again) |
I'm fortunate that I live near Carol Armstrong. Since I have had and would like more one on one with her, she'd be my choice.
|
Tough call- do I have to pick just one ?
Alex Anderson or Eleanor burns -- flipping the coin -- darn it - it landed on its edge  LOL |
I'd choose the creators of Piece 'O Cake Designs, Becky Goldsmith & Linda Jenkins.
|
Jinny Beyer
|
Oh it is way to hard to pick. Can i have one a day for a week? Boy that would be brain overload LOL

I pick....Quilt Board.

One of our members. Don't recall his name, retired tattoo artist. He took a bunch of different fabrics and blended them all together to make a beautiful scene. I would love to spend the day picking his brain.

Susan Briscoe! Or Kitty and Sylvia Pippen! Or Kumiko Sudo!
|
someone that would help me be less afraid of my embroidery machine...LOL
|
I pick the gals from Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Me too! But Jinny Byer would be a close second running. I wouldn't mind going one on one on a little longarming with Karen McTavish either! |
Carol Doak is a fabulous lady!! I know her personally and went to Paducah with her and a bunch of ladies right when she was starting out her amazing career. :D

I think there are many great teachers though, I think Bonnie Hunter would be a really nice person to share the day with too, she seems so nice. |

Elly Sienskiewiecz- I wanted to sign a class she gave on the Broward Quilt Expo and missed it. The class filled up so quickly.
Mark Lipinski! I took a class with him0 very funny and very creative. I haven't finished the quilt I started in his class. He introduced me to embelishing fabrics with beads. |
When I lived in New Hampshire, Carol Doak was the president of our guild - Hannah Dustin in Hudson, NH! She was such a sweet lady even back then.
|
I've already posted that I would like my private teacher to be Mark Lipinski, and that still stands, but while driving to work yesterday, it occurred to me that if I could spend a day with ANY private teacher, though she's not famous or known by many, it would be my late grandmother, Ms Minnie, she was an awesome quilter, both hand and treadle, I was young and had no interest in learning while she was alive but today, I would love to be a sponge and soak up her fountain of information.
