Yes, we have a group that meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. This month there are 5 Thursdays so we're meeting then as well :) Some can't come every time but are welcome when they can make it. There are about 15 of us and it has been a support when someone is going through a tough time as well as a learning environment and fun times.

We have a group of ladies that meet on Sunday afternoons and sew from 1-6 PM at our community room; where
there are big tables so we can spread out and sew or cut out (we have homemade risers to put under the table legs
to make them higher.) several drive 22 miles to join us and sometimes we have food and other times we don't.
We share magazines, books, patterns and sometimes help one out with fabric pieces. We have a great time.
No quilt police here.

I am blessed to be a part of a group of 8 women and we are now sewing once a month (at least). It is such a gift and I have learned so much from this group, not to mention the support. We fill a room with sewing machines when we get together and some of us bring handwork. Every few months one of our members has over for a weekend of sewing and we have the best time!

I am a member of a group that meets at our wonderful LQS we call it sit and sew some of us bring our machines some bring handwork. Sometimes we work on the same project to learn new techniques . We share our time and talents and love and Prayers. We have a great time. We go out at lunch to eat or some times bring pot luck. We have met friends that come to Florida for the winter and back the midwest or north for the summer. We have a "kitty" we contribute to for routine needs purchased by our great shop owner like coffee, paper goods ect. being with so many talented ladies is great cause someone always knows the answer or how to find out just like a face to face Quilting Board....

Hi everyone, I have been quilting for about 5 years maybe more, well 2 years ago after reading how much fun my QB friends shared how much fun they had with their guilds, I googled "Ohio Quilting Guilds" they had a list of towns. I selected several towns until I found a guild that met on a night I had free. It was in a library and it listed an e-mail address. I e-mailed the guild sponsor and gave her my number. She called and I met her, to make a long story short. I joined the guild and 4 months later started a 2nd shift job and have made it to 1 meeting in 18 months. I miss it. So if you are looking for a guild in your area. "Google" it. You would be surprised at what kind of results you will get. Thanks for listening and keep quilting, you will be glad you did.

That sounds like so much fun. I wish I knew of other quilters in my area who would like to meet and sew together. Reminds me of my Grandmother's quilting parties where all the women neighbors came over to hand stitich a quilt. They finished it in a day. Whenever one of them got her quilt ready she would have the ladies come over and away they would go. Homemade bread and soup, and alway lefsa, a jello salad of some kind and a dessert.

I belong to a sewing group. We meet twice a month. None of us had space big enough but we found a community center in a housing area. We get the room for $25 a day and we can start at 9am and use it until 8pm if we want. Most of us leave about 3pm. Once a year we have a craft fair that raises the money to pay for the room. There are about 15 of us and usually about 10 are there at any given meeting. We make projects for different charities and help each other with projects. If someone is doing something the others like we teach each other. We have potlucks, celebrate birthdays and support each other through the bad times. These ladies have become good friends.

it is awesome to see how many of us are lucky enough to have these groups.

since retiring 4 yrs ago three of us have been getting together to quilt. we worked together for a long time and only found out when our office was closing that we all quilted. it has been fantastic to work on our own projects every fri night. we potluck dinner, then start sewing and laughing, learning from each other, supporting each other. nothing better.

recently a fourth friend has joined us. she did not think she would quilt, was just going to chat and maybe crochet. well, she found out how wrong she was and has just finished her first quilt. the bug has gotten her.

so, if you think you would like a group, get out there and find one. you'd be surprised who is a quilter if you ask around. everybody knows someone who quilts, don't they.
