I went to the local Goodwill this afternoon and the first thing I saw was a Vera Bradley purse! It measured up at 12x16, golden yellow with blue flowers on it, and a red top band. I grabed it on tucked it under my arm, and asked how much the purses are. The guy pointed to a sign that said handbags $1.99. I hurried up, paid for it and bolted out the door before the found out they made a mistake! A Vera Bradley purse for $1.99? YYYEEEHHHAAAA!

Awesome!! I love finding bargains at thrift stores.

How lucky can you get???? That's a great buy! I was at Goodwill the other day with dd and she spotted a large pink Coach in the display case. When we asked the price we were told $159.96!!!! AT GOODWILL!!!!! Needless to say we didn't get it.

I volunteer at a thrift store and when we first opened the store there were some NICE things that sold for almost nothing. As we've been open longer, the pricers have gotten much smarter at pricing....no more big deals of the day....but still get nice things reasonably priced.

I never find any good deals at ours, in fact I think Wal-Mart is cheaper on some items, so I quit going!! I'm not paying those kind of prices for something used.

We tried supporting our local Salvation Army thrift store. The prices are so high we do not even bother to check it out anymore. $5 for a used shirt and $7 for a pair of jeans is just too high. We have two goodwills that need support and we go to them.

We have a couple "independent" thrift stores besides Salvation Army and Goodwill that I like to shop at. One of the independent ones proceeds benefits the humane society so I like to go there the most.

I live in Ft Wayne. It is Vera Bradleys' headquarters. Every May they have an outlet sale. Prices are usually 50 - 75% off. They are supposed to be seconds and discontinued patterns. This year 64,000 people attended the 5 day sale. I can't remember exactly how many semi trailers they had full of stuff but I think I heard 30!!!!!!
It is quite the event. Check their website the beginning of the year to find out when the sale is if you like Vera but not the retail prices.

WOW, what a deal. I would have paid for it and ran too.
