I was looking through the posts for Dear Jane and several said something about a CD or patterns. I've just bought the book, is there actual patterns for the blocks? The book doesn't seem to have "patterns" , just line drawings of each block.

Thanks for your help.

My friend uses my laptop to print her Dear Jane patterns from her CD (she has a Mac, program won't open on her computer) I think the line drawings are the patterns, but I've never done these blocks myself so I'm not certain about that.

There is stand alone software for all the blocks.
Google Dear Jane Software.

This is a really good site where there is a tutorial for every block :-

www.twiddletails.blogspot.com

and scroll down a way and on the right hand side click on Dear Jane.
That will bring up a list with every block and you click on whichever block your interested in - it is very good.
My Dear jane design wall has a link at the bottom of this reply if you want to look !
Please PM me if you have any other questions, I will be happy to help!

The book only has line drawings that are done "in the manner of" the Dear Jane blocks and no actual "how-to" assemble them.

"In the manner of" seems to translate into "more or less" accurate depictions of the blocks.

The software may be better. I don't have it because it is not compatible with the Mac I have.

On the Dear Jane website there are directions for all the blocks. Brenda says it is the easiest way to do them. The information is also on the CD I think. I have enjoyed doing them by myself, but I think I will need direction for the harder ones.
