Congrats on your new machine! It's great that you tested it out and found one that you were happy with.

A new machine is exciting and lots of fun! Enjoy.

Congratulations! Have fun with it!

I might agree about the janome not being user friendly. I’m looking at purchasing my first Juki, maybe the dx 2000qcp. Any advice on the Juki Is?

Ironically, I recently was able to purchase a pre-owned Janome 6600 - which I plan to use as a second machine. I am going to have it serviced first, though. (It really needs to be cleaned.) My first impression has been that the learning curve will be steeper for this machine. I'm confident that I will eventually be comfortable with it, but will be relying heavily on the manual for its unique features. The dealer who will be servicing it spoke very highly of the 6600 and said it will last for years. |
I can sympathize with your quandary... however... since you already have two machines, why not just think about it awhile? As someone else mentioned, both those machines are fairly expensive. I have a husqvarna viking designer 1 (very old machine) and every time I get aggravated with its little quirks, I think about getting a new machine... but $12k+ is just mind boggling to me.... and I muddle through the embroidery I'm fighting with at that time.

FYI..there is a "mint condition Juki F600 on ebay..

The Original Sewing and Quilt Expo is coming up later this month. I am sure both companies will have exhibits there. Suggest you go and test drive. It is in Worcester

I bought a Juki 2000 QVP back then...and recently found a pre-owned Janome 6600 to use as a second (somewhat immobile) machine. |
Juki. I love my Janome but it struggles over thick seams. My sister has the same Janome I do (the 6600) and she just got a Juki because of the same issue.
eta: sorry, didn't realize it was an old thread. :D |
