decorative decals for sewing machines
Does anyone know of a source for the decorative decals for sewing machines? I have searched using google and haven't located the vinyl ones you can remove. I saw a machine that looked so fun with the decals. The lady had cut them herself with some kind of vinyl cutter. I need the ready to stick kind.
Thank you |
I've seen the decals for the older Singers on ebay. They were pretty expensive, though. I wonder if you can find some at an auto parts store? I'd love to decorate my older machines. I think it would be fun to steam punk a machine.
Good Luck! Annette |
oooh, steampunk on my machine would be loads of fun. let us know if you find some.

I did a search on Amazon for "floral vinyl decals" and came up with these:

I found one like I had in mind. The website is https://www.urbanelementz.com/shop/category/decals/
The butterflies caught my eye. |
Thank you for all of your help. I think it would be fun to do something to make my travel machine standout, easier for me to locate as well.
|
Look at window cling decals. They are more size friendly and a great assortment are available.
|
Search for "sewing machine skin" or "decorative skin" and you may well find some custom fitted to your machine make and model.
|
I would check Etsy too.
|
A friend gave me some removable vinyl florals from Vera Bradley! They are on my travel machine!
|
Go to hobby lobby and look thru the scrapbook dept. tell person there what you want and she will find it for you.

Hope I am not mistaken, but I saw some decals especially for Bernina machines in a Bernina booth at a quilt show recently.
|
My daughter-in-law makes amazing vinyl images on her Cricut. If you have one or know of someone who has one it's possible to do this. Give it a try.
|
I heard that you can buy them at Hobby Lobby. Good luck.
|
I had a gal make a vinyl fairy for mine and a beautiful daffodil flower. I put it on about 3 years ago and it still looks like I just did it. She can make anything in so many colors.
|
Yep Urban Elementz!
|
I was going to suggest Urban Elementz, as the owner is a friend of mine. I don't know if they are removable, but she has some gorgeous machine "tattoos". I have a gorgeous pink hibiscus on one of my Berninas.

On Ebay, use "Singer Decals". There are several kinds, true to model numbers of vintage singers.
|
I bought the butterflies. Haven't put them on my machine yet! Now comes the placement...stress abounds when you lack creativity.

If you have a cameo or cricut you can use that to cut out your own vinyl designs. I cut some out when I first got my cameo and put them on my laptop. I never considered putting them on a sewing machine though :)

I'm the first to admit I have a warped sense of humor. I found these in a catalog for Jeep Toys.

I receive two catalogs in the mail this week from Nancy's Notions & Keepsake Quilting.
One of them had the machine decals you are looking for. Sorry, I recycled both catalogs so I can't check for you. |
Etsy has many shops for these vinyl decals and they are not as pricy as Urban Elementz. I got some there for my longarm and mixer and was very pleased.

OK...I just bookmarked Urban Elementz. What fun! I also liked the idea that they pictured of a "tatooed" Kitchen Aid mixer. Thanks!

I need to take a break from sewing and put the bling on my machine.
|
I've always wanted to put decals on my kitchen aid mixer ever since I saw an episode of The Pioneer Woman and she had a mixer with decals on it and I so very much wanted a mixer like that. Didn't know it was decals, just figured it was a custom made one for her. Now I want to dazzle my machines. I think I will look at Hobby Lobby and see what I can find. My grand daughter and sister in law does have a Cricut though.
