Years ago my mother made a couch decorative pillow that she tucked - does anyone have the instructions for how to make this pillow?

thanks

darlene

Do you mean candle wicking?

darleneerickson 11-01-2010 10:56 AM

no, they were tucks sewn on the back which formed a pattern on the front because of the tucks. I have seen them in commercial pillows, but they are pricey and I remember my mother had a pattern - can't find one, though.

LOOK UP CHICKEN SCRATCH, OR MAYBE IT'S HEN SCRATCH,
IT'S DONE ON GINGHAM RIGHT?

When I looked them up on internet - it was not tucked. Am I missing something?

thanks

It sounds like it might be honey comb smocking or pleating. Like this maybe?

You can make a similar type of pattern making pin tucks with your serger and then sewing them down in a wave pattern with your sewing machine. I just suggest it as it would be a quick result.
