Decorative Stitching

Anybody else out there use decorative stitching to hide booboos?

I use LOTS of decorative stitching!

that's probably how it got its start! of course I do, it works great for stitching quilt sandwiches together w/o using binding!

Yes, I use decorative stitching. It does help hide booboos.

Use them quite often, and it's fun trying different stitches and adjusting the sizes

What happens when you booboo with the decorative stitch. I was using the trellis decorative stitch and didn't realize that it had gotten caught and was stitching bout 150 stitches to the inch. i'm still trying to rip it out. Very bad.

I've done that! I made a quilt for my niece while I was very sick and made a TON of measuring mistakes and so when I assembled it I had to make some strategic tucks and pleats to make it all work - I didn't have time or fabric (or energy) to start over. I went back over all the problem areas with decorative stitches (and then more elsewhere so it looked balanced and planned) and nobody ever guessed what was hiding underneath all those stitches!

I've done decorative stitching in tears.
