For me it would be a large charcoal floral print on a cream background with a simple red binding and I would make pillow shams of charcoal, cream with a splash of red.

There are so many design options that ticking would work into! New England beachy, Shabby Chic, a Cabbage Rose motif, and on and on! Think of it as a base design layer.

I have used a fabric with ladybugs....the red was awesome...so were the ladybugs!!!

Check out this Henry Glass fabric. It has charcoal, cream, and tomato red. I think it would be great with ticking stripes.

I was thinking a toile print also. |
Wow! Thanks to all you you! There are so many ideas out there. I love them all! I have to say that I'm a sucker for toile, so that definitely appealed to me. I also loved the homespun look, since my house is a cabin in the woods. However, I need to draw from my stash right now, so I'm probably going with a vintage, scrappy look, with lots of tomato, aqua and b&w prints. I have a "Propeller" quilt partially done, so I might just finish that up.
However, I don't need to stop at just one quilt, now do I? :) I may do a toile coverlet later...when I'm a little richer. Thanks everyone! ~ Cindy |
