Great idea!!!! But my sewing room is not very large and I did have an empty wall so I stapled a bouble bed size batting to a 2" wide long piece of "strapping" and hung it up with picture hooks.
Works beautifully and I can have several small projects up at the same time.

I have a large one on the wall in my sewing room and it cost 18.00. I need a small one for my classes so thanks for the information.

Well I guess I have the cheapest design wall. I use a flannel backed tableloth that is probably over 20 years old and since my sewing room is (finished) in the basement I have one of those ceilings that is on grids. So I hung 2 of those plant hangers for suspended ceilings up, then got an old drapery rod hanging around for over 10 years and drape my table cloth over that. It may not be one of those fancy ones, but it sure works for me - and I'd rather spend $$$ on fabric (hee hee)

Great idea!! I use a flannel backed tablecloth too, but this would be great to have one closer to my sewing machine! :)

I made a simple one from 1 1/2 yards of flannel backed table cloth fabric and just tacked it on the wall in sewing room.

Love the canvas idea! And you can stow it away if you need to. The flannel backed tablecloths are great too. Check Target and department stores after a holiday and they'll have better quality tablecloths on clearance. I'm still using my "design floor" so I really need to jump on this!

Hi Sharon,

I just got back from Phoenix on Friday. We moved my daughter out there. My daughter transferred to from our Michaels to one out there.

I wanted to visit the fabric shops but didn't have time, but will go next time I am out there to visit her. Any suggestions on shops?

Take care, Cindy form Kansas

The only fabric shop here in AZ are Joann's Crafts , Sally's Fabrics and there are 2 or 3 quitling shops in the area.
