OK, so I don't have one.
But....thinking that maybe having one would be a good idea.
What do you use to make one, and how do you mount it on the wall?
Also, is it a permanent fixture?
Thanks!

Mine is a 4X7 (it was 4X8, but I had DH cut it down) sheet of foam insulation - the pink stuff you see on houses during construction or remodeling. I covered it with fabric and DH used screws with washer heads to attach it to the wall. I LOVE IT.

One lady had her husband make a strip that somehow he attached to the ceiling or wall and she hung a heavy (really fuzzy) flannel sheet from it and I think maybe weighted it on the bottom, too.

Another lady bought something specifically to tack on a wall - it looks sort of like a cross between squashed batting and pellon

Or you could tack/tape warm and natural to a wall.

Or get some of that foam insulation and cover it with flannel -

I tried to use my floor, but the cats thought the pieces were there for their entertainment.

Mine is two flannel backed vinyl tablecloths held up by quilt hangers. The hangers look something like this: http://hangupscompany.com/wooden_han...FQJ-xgodph9KFw

The tablecloths are the heavier kind. I tried using the ones they sell at the dollar store, but they were way too thin.

I have a piece of flannel that I hang from cup hooks on the wall in my sewing room. It can be moved that way, or folded up (with or without quilt pieces on it), as it goes over the door because of lack of space! :x

All great ideas - I have a lack of space too :x
Lack of space seems to be common amongst us quilters  Lots of things to create with!
Thank you everyone for the ideas and information

Do you remember those folded up thingies made out of cardboard that you put on the table to cut out fabric when you used to make garments. I had an extra and covered it with flannel. It folds up when not in use. Only draw back is, it is not big enough for a full size quilt.

I am very space limited, so I use a vinyl table cloth with the flanned on one side. I just unfold it, tape it to the wall when I need it, then put it away when I don't. I have found it to be VERY helpful! Good luck.

I have a piece of fleece, I think its about a yard, and tacked it up to the wall. It holds the fabric pieces well.
