I've searched the archives of the Bernina 820/830 Yahoo Group trying to figure out how one goes about determining their machine's stitch count/hours of use. I'm planning to sell my 820, and thought it would help if I could offer that information to the potential buyers. It seems to be attainable information since other sellers of computerized Berninas list their stich count/hours of use....But I can't figure it out. I must admit, I am a little technologically challenged. Thanks in advance for your replies. :)

After start-up, hit the 2nd key from the left, the right-pointing arrow in the box, just right of the "clr" key. Then touch the icon of the sewing machine with the blue "i". Then press the right pointing hand a few times, until you get to the page with the "version software" at the top. The total number of stitches and stitches since last maintenance will be at the bottom of that page. Good luck selling, I love mine, but not enough to need two ;p

Thanks a bunch, Maia. I haven't the time to try it yet, because I'm babysitting my two small nephews, but I'll try it this evening. You are always so darn informed and capable! :)

I'm totally NOT smart when it comes to tech stuff, and i don't think this is in the manual, but they made it easy in the 820, no need to get into the service menu. You can PM or email me anytime. You'll eventually see that I rarely know what's going on. I still haven't done the firmware update for the 820.

Neither I, about the update. I've heard too many bad stories so I thought I would let the bugs get worked out first. I just PMed you. :)

The update has major bugs...don't do it. I did and haven't noticed anything too horrible, but there are a ton of people waiting for the fix for the new update.
|
I thought the 820 update was OK, that only the 830 update was problematic. Now the 830 update is off the website, to be done by dealers, but the 820 one was still up last I checked. The fix from the update I want is for the needle not to go back to center before doing the securing stitches and cutting. Hmmmmm....

Maybe you're right. It may only be an 830 issue.

I have a Bernina 450 & when you automatically reach 150,000 sts you can cl the button BUT when you reach the 1,000,000 mark I had to take it in for servicing (FREE) as they have to cl it, kind of like starting over on a car, mine has seen many sts on it & still going strong, there isn't a day that I don't use it. :) :) :)
