That is very nice of him. My DH contributes to everything. We dont have "his" and "hers" money. It is all just family money. :)

I feel really lucky.....and unlucky!! My DH is a quilter, so he comes along on nearly every fabric shopping trip. He usually pays, which is good. But with him there, I feel somewhat restrained in picking out stash stuff. I feel guilty about him paying for something that I am not going to use for a while. Also, maybe I don't want him knowing everything I am buying? (not really!!)

Now watch....he's gonna read this post and see my comment!!! Huh Oh!!!

This is a second marriage for both of us. Children are from first marriages and we both contribute to the common fund for the household, savings, trips, etc. However, with each of us having separate hobbies, it is working out nicely to have our own little bit of spending money. Also, we can do things for our children and not put pressure on the other spouse.

I retired five weeks ago and have enjoyed being home and having the flexibility of planning my own days along with hubby.

I must be doing something right because he says he's eating more balanced meals, now, and I am not overeating from stress. Time in the kitchen isn't such bumming chore and I am being more creative. DH purchased both a stand mixer and food processor for me!! I think he appreciates what I am trying to do and is sick and tired of doing the majority of the cooking :-)

I have no problem with buying stash because I usually buy just as much as she does. When we start quilting and need just that certain material we feel free to go thru each's stash and continue!!
