Wish I had a scanner. Thats my next purchase if I can quit buying fabric for awhile.

Let's put it this way. Some one famous came along and said do it to 4 and 7/8 every one has did this and wasted their fabric. And then we all figured out to make it 1 inch bigger and cut it down to what the pattern says's. It is that simple.

I know this is an old post, but needed help with my HST's. Went to this site,

The normal rule is:

HST: add 7/8 to finished size block.

QST: add 1 1/4" then make 2 diagonal lines
