If I don't run out of time, I would like to make my nephew a DP9 for Christmas. He is a freshman in college and it is about 4 hours from home. I would like to make a DP 9 using the schools colors of burgundy and gray with black.

Would a DP9 look okay with just 3 colors? Should I mix up the colors or just keep black as the one that will be cut through the middle?

I think these colors would be great! I like black as the accent.

3 is what I use.

I think the black would be great for the middle part. And 3 is perfect!

I made a D9P using red, white and blue for a Quilt of Valor. It turned out beautiful.

I use three. Black in center would be perfect. I did mine controlled scrappy. Used various red, black and white. Show stopped I must admit.

Goes together fast...go for it!!

Thanks for the help!! I made a DP9 with several valentine prints a while back and loved it. I wasn't sure if just 3 colors would work. Now I just need to find gray Kona cotton. I can get burgundy and black at our Hobby Lobby or Hancocks. Just hope I get it done in time.
