Seam ripping is one thing. Picking out quilted stitches is a whole new torture.

7 minutes of FMQ "thread painting". HOURS to pick them out.

Tell me ... will the former needle holes ever disappear?

I feel your pain!

Yes, the holes will disappear. Ask me how I know... I hate picking out quilting! Only one thing worse, picking out a machine embroidery!

Oh no, I don't want to think about going there. This was bad enough, but alas ... it's done.

They do go away!

If you can spritz them with a little water the holes will probably disappear, like magic. Sorry you had to do that.

I just saw a tip on one of the Fons and Porter shows where a quilter used painters tape, wrapped around a finger or two to pick out those tiny little threads. I'm going to try it next time.

Sometimes on batiks the holes do not dissappear , depends on the size needle used. Batiks are very tightly woven and a big needle will perforate the fabric weaving threads....... ask me how I found this out....... sent a quilt for LA ... she must have had issues and took out a bunch of stiches..... many washes later I can still see the original stiching holes.
