Display of quilts

What are some unique ways you quilters use to display your quilts?

Thank you

Mine are displayed "in the wild" - draped over my spouse, or over a nest of snoozy dogs! Sometimes I make the bed and then you can see the bed quilt, LOL.

None of my quilts are displayed except by accident, when they might get draped over a couch or chair after being used. :)

I do like how they look when I go around and collect them all up for a washing, and they come out all fresh and fluffy and I fold them into squares and make a stack on the recliner. But they never stay that way for long! DH & I are "throw quilt" people and we (and our dogs) use all my quilts that I've kept on a regular basis! Every once in awhile DH talks about hanging up the bargello I made for him, but he always decides he doesn't want it out of reach. I think that's sweet. :)

I like your style! :-)

I love your reply - it shows your quilts are used and loved. I have some on the wall, over a stair railing, on a quilt rack, at the bottom of the bed, over the back of a couch - just about anyplace I get by with. Thanks for responding.

I have an old latter (very rustic looking) that I have wrapped the rungs with batting and drape up to 5 quilts over. The latter sets in the corner of my sewing room. I also have one draped over the entryway railing along the upstairs landing. Otherwise they are in a closet or on a bed.

I also have an old ladder and an open stairway for draping. There are lap quilts in different rooms, over beds or chairs or the couch. I make quite a few seasonal wallhangings and those are hanging in halls/dining room. Since I don't make many bed size quilts that I've kept, those few are kept in a closet for use on the guest room's bed.

I give nearly all of mine away so I have nothing to display! Since I am a longarmer I don't get much time to work on my own. I am going to be starting one that is all paper pieced. When I eventually get it done (years from now) I will use "Hang It Dang It" and display it in my studio.

I have mine covering up as much of the back and seat of the couch, chairs and footstool collecting cat hair:). Also on the bed, top of the blanket chest (it's full of folded "good ones"),and stacked on a bakers rack, also for collecting cat hair:). The only quilt the cats don't get on is a quilt I have on a quilt rack, it was made by my Mom about 45 years ago and it won 1st place at a county fair.

We have 2 houses so my quilts are on the beds.... 8 beds total.... and extras hang on quilt racks and some in the closets.

You might check Pinterest for ideas. I have a huge basket (round but probably 20-24" high and nearly that wide) that sits at the edge of the fireplace. It holds a lot of quilts (plus I can reach in to hide things when company is coming). Sometimes I handpick a favorite quilt to place on top (say, to match a holiday or season). I sometimes roll the quilts, but usually I just fold them into a square. You have to refold occasionally. I also have some on tables, some on walls, and one or two on each bed!
