I want to use the DMC perle cotton for some decorative stitches on a quilt. Does it shrink?

It's for a baby quilt so I'm sure it'll be machine washed & dried often.

Not sure, but why not take a measured piece...at least two or three feet, and soak it in hot water then put it in a lingerie bag in the dryer and remeasure it when it's dry?

It has never shrunk on me but I usually prewash reds so no bleed-thru.
