Longarm quilters will often do quilt basting. I basted a baby quilt for someone to hand quilt and she said she'd never try to baste her own again!

I'd pay for basting services for sure. Even though I don't love binding, I don't think I'd pay to get someone else to do it.

If you really hate binding - ask at your LQS, they sometimes know ladies who do. I know my mom loves to bind and I have left her name at several of our LQS and she gets quite a bit of business. Not charging a ton I think she charges $50 for a Queen, but it gives her some extra money and something to do when she is resting!

I love to hand bind!

Okay, I've talked in previous threads about how I don't like to bind and I wanted to see if there were people out here who actually did binding for people. Last night I sewed my 2 1/2" pieces to each other. That's a big thing for me! Next - I iron in half. Might take a day or two. I have 9 quilts to bind before Christmas and at this rate, I might get one done. I can't really afford to send all of them out to be bound, so it's up to me. I'm doing a King quilt right now. Most are lap size, but I still don't enjoy doing the binding. Thanks for the responses. I can't believe some of you don't charge anything!!

Perhaps your LQS (or your longarmer) knows someone who would be willing to barter services with you...she binds, you piece or something like that. You both win that way.
