Depends on the size. Use them for a variety of purposes. Sometimes you just need that extra few inches to make sure you have enough width/length for a quilt. I usually machine zigzag.

I keep all scraps, never know when one will be just the right size for a project. also zizzaz the lager pieces together

I save all my batting and fab scraps, and i take them all to my local quilt shop, and then they are sent onto the local animal shelter and a group of ladies make blankets for the animals in the shelter. When a dog or cat is adopted then, they are sent to their new house with their blanket.

I have used lightweight fusible interfacing cut into 2 1/2 inch strips for years to join batting pieces. Works great, just be sure not to have the iron too hot.
I also make 'sandwiches' and practice FMQ on them. |
I give mine to my mom she sews them together for quilts, purses, etc.
|
I have a friend who saves all kinds of soft scraps to make beds for rescue dogs, so mine all go to her.
|
I save my left over batting. I put them together using lightweight, ironon interfacing. Much cheaper than the batting tape. I get the interfacing on sale and cut into one inch strips. All ready to use when needed.

I save mine down to 2 inch wide strips and zig zag together. I use the pieces for small things like hot pads, tablerunners, pin cushions, small wallhangings etc. I've managed to use all my batting scraps up except a small piece. I wish I could say the same with my fabric scrap basket. Dang but I think those scraps have learned how to procreate!

I save all mine and zig zag together. It cost you why would you through it out.
|
Yes I keep large batting and zig-zag together. Barb
