Do you check for pattern corrections
I found an error in a pattern kit I bought before I made the cut . Out of curiosity I Googled the pattern and found a long list of many pattern corrections for many quilts. What an eye opener. I'll be checking for corrections on all the patterns I purchase from now on.

I always read a new pattern through and check the illustrations to make sure it all makes sense and looks right. If I find any thing that seems not quite right or I have a question about I do check for corrections- I do not use a lot of commercial patterns to worry about, I do test patterns for a couple magazines though so have learned to find errors more easily.

Talk about an exercise in frustration when you find a mistake in the instructions. Never occurred to me to try and find corrections. Did you just go to the pattern's publishing company website?

When I do garment sewing I always check the reviews at www.patternreview.com because someone can tell me if they run large (usually) and any things to look out for. Now, thanks to you, I will be googling quilt patterns too. To be honest, I never thought of it and hadn't been burned yet. Thanks for the tip ~ Pat

Never occurred to me to check - even though I have learned to not totally trust a pattern or the directions -
Where should one go to check for corrections? |
There was an earlier thread about this same issue and at that time I decided I will also check before I start any project from now on.
Thanks for the reminder and heads up to others using bought patterns. peace |
I do check pattern instructions. Pattern designers are human and are just as susceptible to making mistakes as the rest of us.

I do usually check for corrections on the pattern designer's web site. I also make sure the directions make sense to me before I start working on the pattern.

Yes, I learned the hard way -- now every couple of months I check the magazine websites (of those I subscribe to) find all the corrections and write them on the pattern in the magazine. Figured that will save a lot of frustration later!

I found out the hard way once .. did all my cutting and low and behold one of the dimensions in the cutting instructions was wrong. Now I read the pattern twice .. make a test unit and check for corrections.
