Do you do the block of the month blocks?
|
Make them into a quilt. Some I've used for couch throws, some I've bought extra fabric and made up to kingsize quilts with them. And I must confess, some are still hanging on skirt hangers on the rack in my sewing room. One or two never got finished at all.

I've picked up several but never seem to do them. I probably have at least half a dozen or so lying around here. Maybe one day....?

i have started a few bom's never seem to finish them...they take too long, 6 -7 months into it i'm usually moving on and find it hard to go back and finish later. and lots of time i like the patterns but would rather use my own fabrics instead of what comes in the kits.
the bom's that you just follow along with patterns i have started saving the patterns each month for the year, then when i have them all i will start...less chance of getting side tracked 6 months down the road |
I think it would be fun just to do the block of the month and find the free patterns online!
|
I read this wrong, I thought it said, "What do you do with BOMs" OOOpps bad me.
Yes, I do BOM's but not the kind you just buy at the store. Right now I'm doing 3 plus a Buck-a-Block Thangles thing. |
Have picked up free BOM patterns from WalMart....that's as close to quilting as i can get. :D
|
I printed out the BOM Balitimore Bliss and have even bought the material for it. I started another applique block as I had never done applique before just for a practice, although I haven't been able to touch it for a week.
When I go on vacation I plan on bringing the Baltimore Block with me so I can at least do hand sewing. I am also bringing along my Yo-Yo's (the first thing I ever started) as I have many, many more to make. I would like that to be for a queen bed. I do intend to do the whole 12 months worth of patterns, it may take me a few years though. This is one I will keep for myself, I think. I have a very difficult time saying no! :!: |
There is already a section here that does a BOM , using free patterns from the internet

No, not any more.
I did a couple of block of the month quilts from one of my local shops that has since closed. |
