I'm working on this pattern as we speak. It's a lot of fun! I bought the digital pattern on Etsy. She has some lovely things!

This would be a lovely way to frame a panel!

Instead of using FG, I would just stick to hst and squares for the whole thing...bigger than 1 1/2" however! What a great leader/ender....using my GO to cut, of course... |
Well, I was just on Pinterest and this thread is on there - picture of name this block - is the opener.... Wonder how that happens

I am so glad this block has a name. I saw it and fell in love with it. I have been working on it this winter.. I call it my 3 am quilt because I usually wake up at that time and then go work on it . I am using my civil war reproduction prints for it.... My blocks are 15". A mere 40 HST per block!!! I can't wait to get it on the long arm!

This is a beautiful block. Thanks to those who posted pictures. It is going on my bucket list for sure. I love civil war fabric and have quite a collection to use.
