Do you know how to find this tute

Sorry for posting here, won't let me post in main. Afriend saw this tute on-line, she doesn't know where. I'll try to describe it. You sew 3 strips (wof) together totaling 6 inches wide, sub cut into 6 inch squares. Take 2 squares with right sides together sew all the way around, (one square will be vertical the other horz.). Then cut an x & re-sew it together. Anyone have a clue. I'd like further info on this as the resulting looks quite complicated but if fact seems quite easy.

If the link won't work, it was on youtube and was called amazing jelly roll quilt pattern by 3 dudes, and yes, it was Jenny of Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Thank you so much, that is the one. Forgot to mention the 3 dudes. My friends sample only had 3 strips. I liked it better than 4 strips.

That is a great pattern. I used it to make a table runner and I was very pleased with the result. I used the 3 strips just as was shown in the demo. I will be interested to see it made with 4.

I'm just putting the binding on one right now, all batiks and using 4 strips. It came out great and was very easy, but watch out for those bias edges!

Type in "Amazing Jelly Roll Quilt by Three Dudes" That will take you to Jenny doing it. It truly is amazing! It uses the same technique as Hidden Wells.

I forgot about this one. Thanks for posting the link. Jenny is great and she gets so excited to show what someone has come up with. She gets so excited to show what she has come up with also.

It's a great method. I made this quilt using 4 strip sets.

A friend of mine made a terrific quilt, using a similar idea. She got it out of Simple Quilts & Sewing, Edition 119 from 2011 and it is called Four Square. It is a little more "neat" looking. She used a jelly roll also. I just have to order the magazine.

It sounds like the pattern called Sonia's Windows which was in a recent magazine. It might have been the recent McCalls special edition. I'm not home for another week so I can't look it up. It was really fun to make.

Really like this quilt pattern.

nativetexan 10-06-2012 10:52 AM

I like it done with strips so when you cut them twice , the seams help stabilize the fabric more. those bias edges aren't so bad doing it this way. i will try it, thanks.
