I drew it out of memory but would like to know the name. I've searched
all my books to no avail. Nothing in quilterscache either. Any idea?

not me...but I like it.

Quick, it's got no name so name it after yourself. EasyPeezy block sounds good to me.

Very similiar to Aunt Addie's Album, very unique. I agree name it!

Don't recognize it, but sure like it. How are you going to construct it?

laureneberhard 02-12-2011 02:12 PM

According to a block book I have, it's called 'Aunt Addie's Album' There probably lots more names for it too..

Sorry for the double naming...I was looking as the other was posted.

Thank you all for looking. So far the closest I found was 'Noon and Light' but in reverse.

I also found that it was exactly the same as the inside part of 'Best of All'
so that's where I would start.

I don't know the name but boy is that a neat block!!! ;)

I looked in my EQ and there is a similar block, except the center is a sqaure in a square, and it's called "Girls Favorite". I tried to find it online with no luck.

Thanks for sharing it though, I really like it!

You know a great place to look would be Jinny Beyer's book, A Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns. I have it, if I have time later I'll dig it out and see if I can find your block. She has over 4,000 blocks in it and she tried to find their earliest origins. Many of them were patterns given away in ladies magazines from the 20's to 40's when quilting really gained in popularity. :)
