I am looking for a maple leaf quilt pattern that I saw in a magazine some years ago - kicking myself b/c I thought I saved it but can't find it anywhere! It had the traditional maple leaf blocks (which I do know how to make) but had them made in 2 (maybe 3) sizes, and then the blocks were put together so that 2 small blocks were put next to 1 large block, so that the overall look was somewhat non-symetrical, kind of organized-scrappy, and very interesting to look at.
Does this make any sense?? Does anyone have old magazines with maple leaf quilts that might look like this? Thanks in advance if you do! |

http://www.lauriehawn.com/news.asp?newsID=38 scroll down to the maple leaf patterned quilt! either of these? |
How do you all do it? A question just barely gets published and someone has an answer, a link, or a suggestion. Wow!
|
I saw a really sharp one in a catalog I recently got - and came close to getting it but realized there is no way I'd get to it this year so I restrained myself (yes, I do have restraint sometimes!)
http://www.keepsakequilting.com/prod...ATTERNPLUS.htm I know it's not the one you were thinking of but I thought of it when I read your post... I just love that pattern but know better than to even add it to my to do list! |

My husband would say that we are like the Borg on one of those Star Trek shows.. I don't remember which series it was that had the Borg...

The Borg were on Star Trek: Enterprise

I just love this quilting board site, it seems like you will find someone or others with the answers, fast!
thanks everyone! |
You are all amazing! Justwannaquilt, I think the ones you linked might be it - if it isn't exactly as I recall, they are very close, and will suit me just fine for my next project. Thank you so much!
PS - As a former Star Trek lover, I totally "got" the reference to the Borg, and definitely agree. |
And BTW, my favorite Borg character was "7 of 9", played by Jeri Ryan, on Star Trek Voyager. I know, I'm geeky that way...

This is something that I did in EQ5 recently. This pattern can easily be enlarged or shrunk as needed. I plan to do this in the fall. I am telling myself that I cannot start anything new until I finish the two I am working on now.

I've been toying with the idea of going to Keepsake Quilting store. I live in SW Michigan...give me your thoughts please, is it worth the drive?

Rachel Oh and we have our own song too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX7nQrCgALM :) :) :) |
I love it...great song.
We drove through NH on the way to Newfoundland a few years ago. Even climbed or rather my motorcycled climbed I white knuckled it, up Mt. Washington. I'm very proud of that feat. Crossed the lake on a ferry I think, but didn't know about Keepsake Quilting or I would have pestered DH to make a detour. I have a dear elderly aunt in Central PA...maybe can use a visit as an excuse. Hummmm... Thanks. |

There's a vast collections of overpriced lovely fabric and a ton of tchothcke all over the store. The staff are helpful and well-informed. It would not be a trip I'd make from Michigan, but if you do, figure out how to also get to Quilted Threads in Henniker - they are also expensive but with a really good first quality sale room. I find their fabric selection the best of any store I go to. Also a huge selection. Good luck |
Don't know about quilted threads...I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
