Do You Know What Happened With the RJR Arabella Rose Cream Primrose Hill Quilt Kit?

This is a BOM kit at some places and I ordered the entire quilt kit from Hancock's back in early December. It has been backordered until recently and today I looked on line and found that the order was cancelled. I called and they said that they were unable to get some of the fabric line so they couldn't make the kits.

Doesn't it seem strange that the fabric manufacturer wouldn't honor the order by such a large seller as Hancock's? I am not very happy that they didn't even notify me that the order was cancelled either.

So, I am wondering if other people have been able to get the kit or have been successfully receiving the BOM materials? I really wanted to make the cream quilt.

Fabric manufacturers design, sell and abandon their lines faster than bra models or silverware patterns could ever think of doing!! Has always been thus, likely always will be, as the market is consumer demand driven. Sure Hancocks of Paducah sells lots of fabric, but they are surely not the major retailer the manufacturers are catering to.
so sorry you've lost out on this BOM, it must have been wonderful, but any fabric you saw new 4-6 months ago is probably well out of production by now. On to bigger and better things is the way of it.

Have you checked with fabricessentials.com. It seems that they might still have it. I have finished one quilt with this fabric and am almost done with another. I really like the kit quilt. It is a stunner.

Thanks for posting the site that still has the BOM. I saw that initially back in December and passed on it there because the price is $444 before shipping (however it does include the backing and a fat 1/8 bundle). The price I would have paid at Hancock's was $199 (I used a 20% coupon at the time so regular price was $249). A huge difference either way. I wouldn't ever want to spend almost $500 just on the fabric because a large quilt like this will still be very expensive to have quilted.

Thank you anyway and I would love to see the finished or in-progress of this quilt for anyone that is doing it (I know there are a few places that have it a bit cheaper than the fabricessentials but still quite a bit higher than the price I was going to get).

I was wondering about that. With my skill level and family needs, I couldn't see paying $444 plus shipping for a quilt top and backing, no matter how wonderful. Plus my family seems to appreciate practicality more than beauty!

I did wonder about that price, but didn't investigate contents, etc. There are some sites that have the fabric on sale. Could you get the pattern and make it from fabric that you buy separately. I saw one ON SALE for about that price last fall. It was surely a temptation, but I could resist it. I have thought about it many times since. It was just a stunner, but I thought it was way too expensive for me.

I would at least ask for the pattern so you could make the quilt anyway. They would probably charge but at least you would have the pattern. I googled but it states it no longer exists. I often take photos of quilts I'm interested in for future reference and note if there is a pattern attached. I then file it into my computer. Because of copyright laws, I also check closely for those. Sometimes it's in the fine print.

I just did a quick search for RJR Arabella Rose Cream Primrose Hill Quilt Kit at Quiltshops.com and came up with 2 quilt shops that list it.
Good luck! Anne
