If I knew the proper name of this quilt, I could google it, but all I get are regular flying geese patterns. If you have suggestions as to where I can get this pattern, please let me know.

Many thanks.

Yes, that's the one. That would be the perfect quilt for our cottage. We watch the geese all the time.

If you come across the name of the pattern, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Could you just figure it out from the picture? It looks pretty straightforward.

Jim's Gem 06-17-2010 04:23 PM

whinnytoo 06-17-2010 04:28 PM

It is called "Flying Home" My Mother has the book (bought at walmart) and I will ask the named of the book when I see her this weekend. Both Mom and I have made this quilt, but there is a mistake in the cutting cirections. One piece was left out, so be sure to read all the steps carefully, It does tell you when to sew the piece in, then you can cut it. It is a beautiful quilt when it is done.

gailmitchell 06-17-2010 04:44 PM

You guys are good. I googled Flying home quilt, and it's in this book.

The Big Book Of Quick Rotary Cutter Quilts

It's a Pam Bono pattern called "Flying Home" - I did show my quilt made up in this pattern when I posted pics of my quilts back in April - go to www.pambonodesigns.com - not sure if it can be bought separately but it came in her Big Book of Rotary Cutter Quilts - it was an easy pattern and very enjoyable to make.

Just a reminder of what I posted in around 15th April 2010 - here is the pic of my quilt again

brushandthimble 06-18-2010 04:57 PM

very pretty quilt! one of those I would to make, but don't want to get the book for one quilt.

brushandthimble 06-18-2010 04:58 PM

Here is a better pic of my quilt which I made wider to fit QS - the original was KS single and too long, hence more real geese in my quilt than Pam had in her's

BellaBoo 06-18-2010 05:09 PM

I found the book for $9 on Amazon. I ordered it, heck you can't buy a pattern for that amount if I did find it separate from the book. The other patterns in the book looked interesting too.

Ada Shiela 06-18-2010 05:11 PM

Hello Brushandthimble - thanks for your lovely comment - I did 4 geese across the top of quilt and down to 3, 2, and so on until I split the singles to the bottom and kept the single in the triangular geese to the left of quilt, hence 12 geese in total - I do love birds and flowers, you might recall that I did the Sunflower quilt from the same book, which I did buy online from Alibris.com; I also did the Chilli tablecloth from her book!! There are so many beautiful quilts in this particular book - I bought one book which said 'more' quick rotary cutter quilts, then bought the first book thinking it would be different, but it covered all in the first book which I then gave to my daughter - I don't remember if or not the geese were in the 'more' book!!

Just FYI, this is a 12 year old topic - it's from 2010.

I pasted the name Flying Geese and there are many pictures of this quilt and even some patterns of the geese. Hope this helps.

lindaschipper 12-06-2022 03:13 AM

I thought this book/pattern was now out of print. I've been known to be wrong a time or two...LOL

julybaby8 12-06-2022 07:43 AM
