Do you like your rotary cutting machine?

My aunt is retiring and she's been eyeing a Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine.

What are your thoughts on this? Pros? Cons?

Thanks!
Michelle

I bought one, and returned it the next day. It takes so long to set up, and you have to hold the fabric just right as it goes through. I find I can cut strips on my cutting board much faster. Plus, I really don't like the "pinked" edge on the strips. Wonder if anyone else has had this experience??

I bought one and was disappointed. FINALLY, got it set up right, then it it ran so fast I couldn't keep the fabric straight to cut strips. It went to Goodwill. IMO, the June Tailor slotted ruler is a much better buy.

She might like to look at the Accuquilt if all she wants are strips they have dies for that too.

It s NOT for her if she likes accurate strips.

I do just fine with my june tailor ruler, best tool for strips other than the die cutters or the altos cutting system, and way cheaper I might add. I thought about getting a small strip die for my sizzix but I figured I would be much faster with my june tailor as I don't have the big sizzix that I am eyeing soon.

You might want to do a search here on the board about the rotary cutting machine. Some people love it but I have to say the majority will tell you it isn't worth the money. This includes me. I got one when they first came out as a gift. I wasn't able to get it to cut accurately, tried everything but it was terrible. It sat on my shelf for over 2 years and I sold it about a year ago to someone but only after I explained why it had been sitting on my shelf for over 2 years. An expensive item that will just take up space and cause buyers remorse, IMHO.

Thanks for your opinions. I think I'll steer clear of considering this as a gift for her.
