I love the Moda fabrics but really don't have a brand preference as long as the fabric is a good quality.

I'm not familiar with the Moda Bella, but I can tell you I don't care for using Kona solids for hand applique. its thick.

I love the Kona and buy it if I can find the right colors. I have bought others and have not been as pleased with it as Kona. I am not sure if I have ever bought moda.

I like the feel of Moda Bella better than the Kona.

I like the Moda Bella fabrics better as I haven't had any problems with them bleeding as so with the Kona Solids. Just my take on the subject.

Yes they are .. Kona is a registered trademark of Robert Kaufman. Sometimes at Jo'anns they do wind some fabrics on bolts that are not the correct bolt when there are just a few yards or there are pieces wound onto a bolt. I buy it by the bolt or nearly full bolt at Jo'Anns so I get the real Kona.
