Since I wash, dry and iron all my fabric before sewing, I don't usually wash them upon completion. It's a thought though!!!!!!

I wash my fabrics before I begin quilting so I don't wash afterwards. But I do let them know there are probably a few doggy hairs woven into it. :D

Hi Sandpat, what is a color catcher??? Thanks!

Color Grabber - a product available in the detergent aisle that 'grabs' excess dye from fabric in the washer. They're about 1/2 the size of a 'Bounce' sheet. I use one in the washer when I prewash new fabric. I wash dark fabrics 1 at a time. Light fabrics, I fill up the tub. They don't seem to run excess dye. If the dye doesn't run, I re-use the sheet with another fabric.

I haven't washed them in the past, but I will most likely do so in the future. Good points for washing, especially about the seams that give way! I think I would like to see the markings gone fromt he quilt!
