Do you use Quilters Delight Safety Pin Covers on your Basting Pins?

Just wondering what you think of these. I saw them at Joann's today and was going to buy some but my coupon wasn't good until tomorrow.

I have a little arthritis in the fingers of my dominant hand and wonder if these will help in handling the pins when basting.

Thanks,
Cathy

I have often wondered about these things too! I prefer to safety pin baste my quilts and I too have arthritis in my fingers (among other places!) I'll follow along with you to see if we get any good advice!

I use the covers and the Kwik Klip. They work great and makes it alot easier on your fingers.

I put these covers on some of my pins and use these covered pins to mark rows or special places on tops. Since they are colorful they are easy to see. They are a little tricky to get on the pins. When I was pinning sandwiches I used the Kwik Klip that really makes pinning easier. Now I spray baste usiung 505 spray adhesive and find it is much easier on you rfingers and really seems to hold sandwich in place better. I think these covers are worth the $ when bought with coupons at Joann's. Buy them and share with friend!

I'm spray basting these days. Works soooo much better and hods for a very long time. I spray basted one year and quilted it a year later. it held wonderful.

I like them alot.
Much easier to use and when it takes so many pins to baste a quilt they sure save your fingers.
I also like the clips that you use to hold fabric on your cutting table. Since I cannot get down on the floor I have to baste my quilts on my cutting table and this requires moving the quilt in order to baste it all.
These clips are not bulky like the black office clips that take strengh to open.

I use them along with the Kwik Klip. This works very well for me. I strongly recommend purchasing them.

If you pin baste a lot, then you won't be disappointed. I bought both these and the Kwik Klip after my fingertips began to fray.

Same here. Your fingers don't get nearly so sore as with bare safety pins.

You have naked safety pins?!!! :D My DGD would spend an afternoon pinning the pins with these covers to a tee shirt to make designs. LOL. They make pinning much easier on your fingers. And the pins do not get tangled up at all when in a container. I have a big cookie tin full of the covered pins. I use to pin baste and the covers made it so much easier and the Kwik clip works great. It is much faster to put the covers on with a pair of needlenose pliers to gently squeeze them in place.
